Call for Submissions

Nonforgotten requests poetic or short prose narratives which speak in the first-person to give voice to the dead. Forgotten in their day, perhaps, silenced, oppressed, or just unknown (the common fate), here the dead speak in the first person to tell their stories.

This might be a friend or relative, someone you knew in passing, or even a famous person, but it should be someone who actually lived. However, we are not looking for raw pathos. You should have some distance from the subject you speak for. You might think of Edgar Lee Masters’ Spoon River Anthology as an example of what would be appropriate.

We encourage poets to add an image of a headstone or memorial, or another image that relates to the deceased.

Please consult the Guidelines for Submission and the Samples page before submitting. Send submissions to the Editors, poundsway(at)gmail(dot)com.
